Evesham Bell Tower

Standing proudly at the edge of Abbey Park, the Bell Tower is the town’s most iconic and enduring landmark a must-see for visitors to Evesham.

Built in the early 16th century, this remarkable structure is all that remains of the once-grand Evesham Abbey, which was largely destroyed during the Dissolution of the Monasteries under Henry VIII.

Constructed in the Perpendicular Gothic style, the tower reaches a height of over 100 feet and features intricate stone carvings, pinnacles, and a central staircase. Despite the loss of the abbey itself, the Bell Tower has stood the test of time and remains a symbol of Evesham’s rich monastic history.

The tower houses a ring of bells, which are still rung for special occasions and commemorations, continuing the centuries-old tradition. Surrounded by beautifully kept gardens and the ruins of the old abbey, the Bell Tower offers a picturesque and poignant reminder of the town’s spiritual heritage.
